Six Former Huskies Named to U.S. National Team

PRINCETON, N.J. - As announced by USRowing, six former Huskies have been named to the U.S. National Team that will compete at the 2015 World Rowing Championships. The event will take place August 29 – Sept. 6, in Aiguebelette, France.
Sam Dommer (’14) will be competing in the Men’s 8+. Dommer made his senior team debut last year at the World Rowing Championships, taking fourth in his heat of the Men’s 8. 2011 UW graduate Hans Struzyna will row with the U.S. men's quadruple sculls
In the Women’s 8+, Washington will be represented by Katelin Snyder (’09) and Kerry Simmonds (’11). Snyder has won three gold medals at the World Rowing Championships, coxing the U.S. Women’s 8+ to victory in 2009, 2013 and 2014. Simmonds was part of the 8+ that took gold in 2013, and she earned a silver in the pair at last year’s championships.
Arienne Martelli (’10) and Megan Kalmoe (’06) will be in the Women’s 4X. Martelli took home silver in the 4- at last year’s race, and Kalmoe won silver in the Women’s Pair.
