UW Signs CCSF Quarterback Tony Rodriguez

City College of San Francisco quarterback Tony Rodriguez has signed a financial aid agreement and will join the Washington football team this coming season, head coach Chris Petersen confirmed today.
Rodriguez was the Offensive Player of the Year on the Region I All-California junior college team last year at CCSF. He was also the Bay 6 Conference offensive MVP.
"We're really happy that we were able to find Tony," Coach Petersen said. "He'll add an immediate boost to the competition at the quarterback position this fall."
As a sophomore last season at CCSF, Rodriguez led the Rams to an 11-2 overall record and a Bay 6 Conference championship with a 5-0 mark in league play. He completed 164 of 279 passes for 2,382 yards, 18 touchdowns and just four interceptions, while also rushing for three TDs. In five conference games, he really shined, completing 80-of-125 for 1,203 yards, 12 scores and two interceptions.
Rodriguez prepped at Brookside Christian in Stockton, Calif., but missed most of his senior season due to injury. He will come to the UW as a true junior in 2015.
