Class Day Regatta & VBC Banquet Registration Open

SEATTLE – With the annual Class Day Regatta and its accompanying festivities quickly approaching, registration for the Varsity Boat Club Banquet and other weekend activities is now open.
This year’s VBC Banquet is scheduled for Friday, March 27, at the Conibear Shellhouse and will feature Olympian and UW alum Megan Kalmoe, who was named the 2014 USRowing Female Athlete of the Year. A reception will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by dinner and a program including Kalmoe’s remarks.
VBC Banquet Registration
The Class Day Regatta is the main event on Saturday, March 28, and will kick off at 10 a.m. It will be followed immediately by the Post-Race Barbecue in the Conibear Shellhouse, beginning around 11 a.m. Class Day Awards, including the naming of the 2015 captains, inspirational athletes, and academic award winners, begin at about 11:30 a.m.
The Women’s Alumnae Race will be held on Saturday morning. The event is free and open to all former UW female rowers. The race will begin at 8 a.m., and participants should arrive at 6 a.m. at Conibear to prepare for a 7 a.m. launch. Contact Denni Nessler-Stobin for more information.
Tickets are also available for the 21st Annual Class Day Cruise, a yearly tradition. Join alums, friends and parents on board the "Goodtime II" and get a bird’s eye view of the races as you follow the crews down the Montlake Cut. The cruise includes breakfast croissants, fresh fruit and coffee, and play-by-play by the coaches.
The Class of ’65 will celebrate its 50th anniversary Saturday morning at 7 a.m. in the Conibear Shellhouse. Part of the celebration will include the generous donation of two sets of oars given to UW Rowing by the Class of ’65.
