Richards Named to MLS Team of the Week Honorable Mention
After starting in his first-ever MLS match last Saturday, Husky alum Brent Richards was selected to the MLS Team of the Week Honorable Mention list.
Richards, the Portland Timbers homegrown player, made his first MLS start against Chivas USA in a 1-0 loss at JELD-WEN Field in Portland. Richards was also named CenturyLink Man of the Match after the game, getting 40% of the votes; the forward took four shots, one on target, before being subbed out in the 74th minute. Richards made his MLS debut against the LA Galaxy on July 14 and then made an appearance on the road against FC Dallas on July 21.
