Aman Scores Goal No. 5 in SeaWolves Comeback Victory
EDMONDS, Wash. - The North Sound SeaWolves overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat the Victoria Highlanders 3-2 in a PDL match-up Friday at Edmonds Stadium. The win snapped a three-match losing streak for the SeaWolves, who improved to 4-6 with six games left. Victoria fell to 2-6-3.
North Sound's rally started in the 40th minute after being down 2-0 when Victoria defender Kalem Scott fell on the ball in the penalty area and was whistled for a handball. Washington red-shirt senior Abdul Aman converted from the penalty spot, the North Sound forward's team-leading fifth of the season. Aman and fellow UW senior Quinton Beasley started for the SeaWolves, recording one shot each. The SeaWolves tied it at two in the 54th minute with a goal from Brady Ballew and got the game winner int he 65th minute when Marshall Kosaka tapped in for his first goal of the season. The SeaWolves have two home matches remaining, including Monday's 7:30 p.m. match with the Portland Timbers U-23s and then against the Sounders FC U23 on Friday, June 29.
