Herbstreit Gives Husky Stadium Some Love!

ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit has never been shy to voice his opinion, particularly in his preseason "Herbie Awards." His annual comments, thoughts and predictions were published yesterday by ESPN.com and the former Ohio State quarterback lists Husky Stadium as No. 2 on his list of places ESPN's GameDay must visit! He also lists Jake Locker as one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the country (not too much of a stretch considering he did rush for nearly 1,000 yards two seasons ago as a freshman).

While we are on the subject of Game Day, become a Facebook fan of The Zone - the UW's newest pregame tailgate party. The Zone opens at 1 p.m. on Saturday and will feature food, beverages (alcoholic and non), music, big screen television, a Kids Zone and more.

I thought I read that The Zone would open 3 hours before kickoff, which would make this Saturday a 4:30pm opening...not 1 pm as this stays. Which is which?

Generally, The Zone does open three hours prior to kickoff. However, since this weekend's game starts at 7:30 p.m. (the latest home start in Husky football history, by the way), we've decided to open The Zone at 1 p.m. It's a full day of UW football revelry!
