Coach from 1968 to 1987. His crews won the 1984 national collegiate championship and 15 Pacific Coast Rowing championships; in 1977, his crew won Grand Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta; voted Pac-10 Coach of the Year three times; member of U.S. Olympic Rowing Committee, 1972-76.
