2008-09 (Senior): Tied for second on the team in overall wins with 18 against just nine defeats ... was 12-5 in dual matches, going 4-1 at fifth singles and 8-4 in the sixth spot ... won four of his final five matches, including a crucial three set win in UW's first round NCAA match against Texas Tech, beating Michael Breler 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 as UW won 4-3 ... was 3-1 in Pac-10 dual matches, beating Jason McNaughton of USC, Ahmed Ismail of UCLA, and Ted Kelly of Stanford ... had a nine-match win streak from the end of the fall season through the first three dual matches ... won six matches in just three days to win the consolation title at ITA Northwest Regionals, all six wins in straight sets ... played in the Pac-10 singles main draw, falling to USC's Steve Johnson in the first round ... played just nine doubles matches, going 4-5 and 1-2 in dual play ... all doubles matches came with David Chu ... reached the quarterfinals at NW Regionals with Chu with three wins ... lost in the first round of the main Pac-10 doubles draw to a UCLA tandem ... earned Pac-10 All-Academic First Team status for the first time.
2007-08 (Junior): Reliable baseline specialist went 19-12 in his first season with the Huskies, going 11-8 in dual play and 8-4 in tournaments ... was 1-2 at No. 4 singles, 6-4 at No. 5, and 6-2 at No. 6 ... was 3-2 in limited doubles action, winning all three with Skyler Tateishi ... hit his peak during the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, where he was the only Husky to go 3-0 ... during the National Team Indoors, defeated Josh Varela of Georgia, Javier Bes of Alabama, and Brandon David of Illinois on consecutive days at No. 6 singles ... in the final two matches he came back from a set down ... posted impressive road win over Matt Bain of Texas A&M, winning 7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-0 ... sprinted out of the gates with a 17-4 record as of Feb. 23, including wins in 9 of his first 10 dual matches, but wore down as the season progressed and lost his final five matches ... was 8-3 during the fall, winning at least two matches in every fall tourney ... made the Flight B final at the Chandler Cup, falling to Cal's Ken Nakahara, 6-4, 6-4 in the final.

2006-07 (USD): Played predominantly No. 4 singles for the Toreros, going 13-9 in dual play ... was 10-6 at No. 4, 1-1 at No. 3, and 2-2 at No. 5 singles ... went 1-5 in six doubles dual matches ... was 6-4 during the fall, for a 19-13 record overall ... earned three singles wins in the consolation draw of the ITA West Regional Championships during the fall ... also picked up three wins at the Torero Challenge ... went 2-2 in doubles play during the fall.
2005-06 (USD): Named the 2006 West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year after posting 11-6 record, all matches coming in dual play ... went 9-4 at No. 5 singles, and 2-2 at No. 4 singles ... 0-2 in two doubles matches on the year.

"Ryo is incredible for us in practice. We gain from him every day. Last year he had just an incredible start and I'm hoping that as a senior now he will have his most consistent season yet. With his game he should be able to do that and I expect that from him this year."
