First of all I would like to congratulate the GymDawgs on such a great season so far! There have been so many improvements and team victories, yet there is still so much enthusiasm and drive to improve even more. The ladies have put so much hard work and passion into this season, and I am excited to see how much more they can achieve.
This past weekend was one full of excitement and emotion for the GymDawgs. The meet against Oregon State and Seattle Pacific was the final home meet for the seniors, and it was one to remember. The Dawgs improved their team score by an entire point from last weekend's meet against Cal - wow! We improved so much yet there are still areas for improvement and added consistency.
Coming off of such a rewarding weekend, the ladies are back in the gym, ready to work hard and make improvements for our meet against Arizona State. Everyone is excited for the warm weather and to begin a month of traveling every weekend.
This year has turned out a lot differently for me than expected. I came here with the intention of competing, after being a level 10 for five years in Spokane, Wash. I had to have surgery on my ankle due to a gymnastics injury, which put me in the position of team manager and an undergraduate assistant for this season.
Watching from the sidelines everyday, I truly see how this team has a spirit and a will to improve. Hopefully next year I will be able to compete and contribute to this amazing group of ladies!
