With midterms this week, it was a struggle for some of the girls to balance gymnastics and academics all week. Having the past weekend off made everything less stressful, though. We were able to get a lot of school work out of the way over the weekend and really focus on gym during the week.
This week at gym, we suffered from some freak injuries. Bo hurt her knee and Chelsea sprained her ankle, but both will hopefully recover soon and be back in lineup. This just meant that everyone on the team had to step up their game, which I thought that we did. No one looked down or gave up for even one second; we just pushed harder.
Thursday was Cassidy's birthday and after practice we all went to the basketball game and handed out flyers to get more students involved in the gymnastics meet. The meet this weekend against Arizona went well, however we all know that we are capable of so much more. We had some new people in line up, especially on beam with Jenni and her new series, Tori, and Celia exhibitioning. I think that we handled this well.
We know that eventually all of the details we have been working so hard on in practice will show in meets and I think that everyday we are gradually getting better. Next weekend we face the Golden Bears and are hitting the road again. Road trips are the best, I could not ask for a better group of people to travel with!!!!! Go GymDawgs!!!!!!!!
