Another season of Husky Gymnastics is about to begin! The freshmen survived their first quarter at college and the seniors are in their home stretch. For the rest of us, we just keep plugging a way in the gym and at school.
Preseason is nearly complete and we are excited to compete. Before starting the new season, we all get a little time with our family and friends during our holiday break. Most of the team was able to return home for the holidays for some rest and relaxation after a busy autumn quarter. This quarter, everyone invested an immense amount of hard work in the gym and in the classroom. I know that this preparation will show through in our performances this season.
I am so eager to begin competing. I love everything about gymnastics, but competition is one of my favorite parts. Competing gives us the chance to show everyone what we have been working on; the competition floor is our stage and each routine is a chance to shine. Hopefully, everyone will return from break energized and ready for our last few practices prior to our first competition against UCLA.
Although our first meet is away, I hope that all of our fans will be in attendance at our first home meet against Utah State on Jan. 12. Happy Holidays and best wishes for a prosperous 2007 from all of the Gymdawgs!
