Note: The 2007 GymDawgs Journal took a one-week hiatus for the holiday season. We resume this week and will continue each week until season's end.
Today was the first day of school, so now it's back to our normal schedules. I went home to San Diego over break so it was really nice to see all my family and friends. It went really fast, though, because we were all back for practice on the 28th.
We celebrated Christmas as a team on Saturday after we got back because everything was so hectic with finals before we left. It has been a tradition to do a White Elephant gift exchange each year, except everyone brings in a "real" present instead of a gag gift. There was some competition for the Coconut Lotion and the Starbucks mug, but everyone ended up with something special!
For New Year's, Katie and Natalie hosted a New Year's Eve Party at their house, and we all had a lot of fun getting dressed up and celebrating the New Year!
In the gym, everything has been going really well and everyone is really excited to start competing. We have been doing lots of team assignments on each event to get ready for our first meet this weekend at UCLA!
