Husky Rowing Experience: 1999 (Freshman): Rowed in the seven seat in the freshman eight that finished fourth in its grand final at the IRA Championships ... second at Pac-10 Championships ... captured San Diego Crew Classic title ... also won Windermere Cup race ... 2000 (Sophomore): Rowed in the three seat on junior varsity eight that won a bronze medal at IRA Championships ... finished second at Pac-10 Championships and won a second-straight Cascade Cup on Opening Day ... rowed with varsity eight in the four seat as Huskies finished second at the San Diego Crew Classic ... 2001 (Junior): Rowed five seat in the junior varsity eight that won a silver medal at the IRAs ... three seat in varsity eight that won a silver at Pac-10s ... six seat in JV eight for gold medal at Windermere Cup and for Cal dual and San Diego Crew Classic.
Personal: Son of Linda and R. James Farrar ... mother is a paralegal and father is a teacher ... has one brother, Andrew (22) ... coached a masters four during the summer in Georgia.
I chose Washington because: They gave me the chance to live and row and go to school in a different part of the country.

My best race was: At UW, it was winning our race in San Diego as a freshman. Before that, it was winning a silver medal at the `98 Junior Worlds.
If I could tell my incoming teammates one thing, it would be: Don't be late ... ever.
