Coach Sheen on Bailey
Wes comes to UW from a great track factory at Mead HS, and an outstanding coach and leader in John Mires, so I am really excited about the contributions he will make on our team. Wes won a state championship in the 300H (38.20) as a sophomore, but decided that he wanted to pursue the sprint races a bit more. After running 21.49 for 200m, and being a part of the USATF Junior Olympic National Championship 4x400 team (3:10.55), I was sold. He has tremendous upside as a collegiate sprinter, and it will be a blast to watch him carry the baton for us in both the relay races. Wes is a team-first kind of guy, and he fits in perfectly with our group. He will have an immediate impact here at Washington.
