Renata Kolbovic begins her second season as an assistant coach for the Washington women's tennis team.
Her first season with the Huskies saw the squad earn its highest ever final national ranking (sixth), while crowning three ITA All-Americans.
A native of Brno, Czech Republic, Kolbovic spent two years in private coaching before coming to Seattle in 2003 from Vancouver, Canada.
Kolbovic was a standout player in both the Canadian and international circuits. She won the Under-16 Canadian Nationals and was a member of an All-America doubles team in 1995.
She also advanced to the finals of the Rolex Championships and earned a bronze medal in doubles at the 1999 Pan Am Games.
Kolbovic is a 1995 graduate of Magee Secondary School. Her interests outside of tennis include design and decorating, as well as skiing, ice-skating and badminton. Her younger sister, Monika, is a freshman on the Husky squad.
