SEATTLE - No. 14/14 Washington will battle No. 16/15 Stanford in a three-game Pac-12 series at Husky Softball Stadium beginning Friday at 5 p.m. Game two will be Saturday at 2 p.m. and game three on Sunday at noon.
Washington boasts a 32-12 record and sits in third place in the Pac-12 at 10-5. The Huskies had their eight-game winning streak snapped by No. 2/2 Arizona State last weekend in game two of the series.
Stanford enters the series fifth in the Pac-12 standings at 5-7 and is 28-12 overall. Last week the Cardinal played a lone non-conference game against San Jose State and won 7-1. The previous week in Pac-12 play they took two games at Oregon State and one vs. Arizona State.
Jenna Rich has a team-high six home runs, 33 RBI and 17 walks. Cassandra Roulund has eight doubles and six triples. Teagan Gerhart returns in the circle and is 16-6 with a 1.92 ERA in 138.2 innings of work.
Washington leads the all-time series 39-26 but Stanford has won the last four games. The two teams last played a series in Seattle in 2010 and the UW earned the sweep.
