Hughes Named First Team Pac-12 All-Academic

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Charlie Hughes was named to the first team of the Pac-12 Men's Golf All-Academic team, commissioner Larry Scott announced on Thursday. Junior Larry Iverson III was named honorable mention.
Hughes, who was also named to the first team in 2011, holds a 3.64 GPA at the UW Foster School of Business with a focus on entrepreneurship. Hughes appeared in all 12 Husky team events and was fourth on the in scoring average (73.71) per round.
Hughes is the seventh Husky all-time to earn first team honors -- six of which have come under the watch of UW Coach Matt Thurmond. Hughes joins James Lepp (2005 & 2006) as the only two-time first team members.
Iverson played eight rounds for the Huskies during the season. Iverson is a 3.36 GPA student majoring in communications.
The Huskies have already earned several post-season accolades. Chris Williams was named first team All-Pac-12 and to the first team Ping All-American squad. Cheng-Tsung Pan was first team All-Pac-12 and named a first team GCAA Freshman All-American.
