Pan Ties For 23rd At Northeast Amateur

RUMFORD, R.I. -- Cheng-Tsung Pan fired 1-under 68 in the final round of the 51st Northeast Amateur Invitatioinal on Saturday to end up tied for 23rd.
Justin Shin shot 4-under 65 on Saturday and beat Jordan Russell, who had led from start to finish, in a 3-hole aggregate playoff.
Pan, who just wrapped up a freshman season at Washington that saw him earn second team All-American honors, had a three birdie, two bogey day at Wannamoisett Country Club. He was 1-over through 12 holes, but birdies on Nos. 13 and 18 enabled him to finish 1-under for the round.
Overall, Pan was +2 (69-69-72-68-278) for the tournament. He jumped up eight spots on the leaderboard after beginning the day tied for 31st.
