Live Coverage: NCAA 3rd Round Men's Golf Championships

May 31, 2012
LOS ANGELES - Washington enters today's final round of stroke play at the NCAA Men's Golf Championships in 6th place. After today's action, the top eight teams advance to match play starting Friday. Today, the Huskies are scheduled to tee off at 12:20 p.m. PT at the famed Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Video is set up on holes 10, 14 and 18, so you can watch (click here) as the Huskies play the final holes today. Also, click on the links below to follow the action or catch up on the news surrounding the team, return periodically for updates and tonight for a recap, photo gallery and videos.
4:15 p.m. - The Huskies are staying hot after a scintillating finish in yesterday's second round. Chris Williams has ratcheted up his game a notch and is -3 through 11 holes at this point. As I type this, the Huskies are third on the leaderboard. For historical purposes, the UW's top finish in stroke play has been third, done in 2005 and 2009. They have also finished 4th twice. Let's see if the Huskies can hold on down the stretch -- a portion of the golf course that they were able to really score well on yesterday and position themselves to make a run.
It seems so long ago that we were looking up on the score board and seeing Washington in 28th place out of 30 teams. Go Dawgs!
6:53 p.m. - The Huskies claimed one of eight match play spots with a solid day of golf. The Huskies couldn't maintain their amazing start, but they did enough early to secure a spot among the elite.
We'll have the pairing and tee times later tonight once everything becomes official. Great day to be a Dawg! Check back later for a recap, photos and video from the day.
