Follow the Huskies on the Road to Riviera
SEATTLE -- Matt Thurmond and the No. 3 seeded Huskies left Tuesday for the the NCAA Regional in Norman, Oklahoma. Action for the regional starts Thursday and runs through Saturday. Washington is hoping to finish in the top five out of 14 teams competing at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club to advance to the NCAA Championship being hosted at The Riviera Country Club from May 29-June 3.

HUSKIES IN THE NORMAN, OKLAHOMA REGIONAL
The Huskies are heading to their 17th-consecutive NCAA Golf Championship Regional after they were announced as the No. 3 seed in the Norman, Okla. regional to be held at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club from May 17-19. The top five teams and an individual not on an advancing squad from each of six regions move on to the NCAA Championship at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The Huskies will be paired with No. 1 Texas and No. 2 Georgia Tech in the first round and will tee off from the No. 1 hole starting at 8 a.m. In all, 14 teams are playing in Norman. Teams will be re-seeded following each round according to score.

THE COURSE
The 2012 NCAA Men's Golf Norman Regional will be played at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club, May 17-19. The course features a par-72, Perry Maxwell design that stretches to 7,387 yards from the championship tees.

HUSKY LINEUP
Husky Coach Matt Thurmond is going with a lineup at the NCAA Regional in Norman that features a mix of veterans and underclassmen. Headlining the Husky fivesome are junior Chris Williams and freshman Cheng-Tsung Pan; both members of the 2012 All-Pac-12 First Team. Junior Charlie Hughes is a tested veteran of two NCAA regionals, one NCAA Championship and was a 2nd-team all-conference selection last year as a sophomore. Sophomore Trevor Simsby has established himself as a mainstay in the Husky lineup and senior Ty Chambers will in the lineup for just the fourth time this season, but brings senior experience to the group.
HUSKIES IN THE RANKINGS
Thirteen seems to be Washington's lucky number as they are currently ranked 13th in the Golfweek.com/Sagarin rankings, GCAA Coaches poll and Golfstat.com ratings. Individually, Williams is currently ranked eighth in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, while Pan is 13th. Golfweek.com/Sagarin rates Williams No. 7 and Pan No. 32 among the nation's top college golfers. Both were semifinalists for the Ben Hogan Award.
