UW Women Seeded 10th In NCAA Women's Golf East Region

INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Women's Golf committee announced the 2012 field for the Division I championship on Monday and Washington was one of 72 teams to be assigned to one of three regions. The Huskies will be a No. 10 seed and compete at the East Region hosted by Penn State University at Penn State Golf Course.
The Huskies will be making their 19th NCAA regional appearance and will be trying to advance to their 11th championship. Washington was seventh at last year's West Region hosted at Washington National in Auburn, Wash. and then 16th at the Championship held in College Station, Texas.
All three regional tournaments will be held May 10-12. The top eight teams from each region will advance to the NCAA Championship to be held May 22-25 at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
The Huskies are one of three Pac-12 teams assigned to play in State College, Pa. Joining them are Arizona State and Arizona.
Alabama, from the SEC, is the overall No. 1 seed in the region.
