Pac-10 Announces 2011 Women's Gymnastics All-Academic Teams

SEATTLE - The 2011 Pac-10 Conference Women's Gymnastics All-Academic teams have been announced and six Husky student-athletes are on this elite list. To be eligible for selection to the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor. Junior Ruby Engreitz, seniors Kristen Linton and Samantha Walior earned First-Team honors. Senior Haley Bogart and sophomore Lauren Rogers earned Second-Team honors and junior Amanda Cline earned Honorable Mention, respectively.
Engreitz (Kirkland, Wash.) carries a 3.66 GPA as a psychology major at UW. This is the second consecutive year she's been named to the Pac-10's First-Team All-Academic. She broke her career-highs on all four events plus all-around in 2011. Engreitz, along with three of her other teammates, were also named to the 2011 Pac-10 Second-Team All-Conference.
Linton (Edmonds, Wash.), also named to the First-Team, is a Law Societies & Justice major with a 3.46 GPA. She, along with the other two seniors (Walior and Bogart), were named the 2011 team captains. Linton also posted her highest career scores on bars and floor in 2011. This is the third consecutive year she's been named to the conference All-Academic Team but the first year she's been named to the First-Team. Linton was also named to the Pac-10 Second-Team All-Conference in 2011.
Walior (Prior Lake, Minn.) rounds out the First-Team honorees for the Huskies with a 3.63 GPA as an accounting major. She also has been a co-captain for the team in 2011. Walior scored a 9.900 on bars four times in her Husky career, three of which were in 2011. This is the third consecutive year Walior has been named to the All-Academic Team and was also a First-Team honoree in 2010. She was also named to the NACGC/W All-Academic Team in 2008. Walior, along with three other teammates, were named to the Pac-10 Second-Team All-Conference for the 2011 season.
Bogart (Woodside, Calif.) was named to the Second-Team with a 3.46 GPA as a business major. This is also her third consecutive year on the All-Academic team and was also named to the Second-Team in 2010. She, along with fellow senior, Walior, also earned the honor of being named to the NACGC/W All-Academic Team in 2008. Bogart broke her career-high in 2011 on vault.
Rogers (Plains, Pa.) was also named to the Second-Team and carries a 3.44 GPA with a major in business. This is her first Pac-10 All-Academic Team honor. Rogers also broke her career-high on beam during the 2011 season.
Cline (Aurora, Colo.) was named to the Honorable Mention All-Academic Team. This is her second consecutive year earning an Honorable Mention. During the 2011 season, Cline posted her highest career score on vault. Cline was also named to the Pac-10 Second Team All-Conference in 2011.
The Husky gymnastics team is extremely proud of all of their student-athletes, especially these six honorees.
