Husky Men In Revered Augusta For Insperity Augusta St. Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A week before the Masters are played at Augusta National Golf Course in Augusta, Ga., the Husky men's golf team will get their chance to play in one of golf's most revered American cities.
The 22nd-ranked Huskies are among the 16-team field for the Insperity Augusta State Invitational, being hosted this weekend at ASU's Forest Hills Golf Club -- just miles away from the famed Augusta National GC.
Top-ranked Oklahoma State headlines a field that includes defending NCAA champion Augusta State, No. 3 Alabama, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Houston, No. 11 Illinois, Lamar, South Carolina, Tennessee, No. 2 UCLA, USC Aiken, Virginia Tech and the Huskies.
According to the latest Golfstat rankings, seven of the top 10 individuals will be in the field. In addition, 10 of the nation's top 50 teams and 14 of the top 30 individuals will be in action.
Chris Williams and Charlie Hughes headline the Huskies lineup. Williams is coming off a win at the Oregon Duck Invitational and a second-place finish at Bandon Dunes, while Hughes was fifth at the Duck Invite and won at Bandon Dunes.
Joining the UW super sophomores are senior Tze Huang Choo, freshman Cory McElyea and junior Ty Chambers.
The Insperity ASU Invitational, presented by Spark Energy and Mercedes-Benz of Augusta, tees off at 5:30 a.m. PT, Saturday morning with 36 holes of play at Forest Hills. Sunday's third and final round gets underway at 6:00 a.m. PT.
