| Courtney (Tully, NY): As a transplanted 64 year old male UW graduate, a few words from just south of Syracuse. Danielle Lawrie's performance in the aftermath of a decisive defeat the day before defies superlatives. It was the greatest one day athletic performance I have ever seen in any sport. She became more focused as each game progressed, refining her pitches to match the situation and the umpire's calls, which were rarely in her favor. Back-to-back shut outs with 27 strikeouts, coupled with her own timely hitting and excellent support from her teammates was an inspiring performance indeed. She should be named player of the year. All the best in OKC, ladies, but remember, for us, you will forever be Champions. |

To be honest, this team is the best because they've won more than a trophy, but the hearts of THOUSANDS of softballers and fans. Watching the Huskies on the field inspires to work harder everyday to accomplish what you all have. For me, a freshman in high school, I came to 6 home games last year, and every WCWS game when you won it all. Traveling thousands of miles to watch this team is definitely worth it. I'm dreamin' big to be a Husky.
