SEATTLE - The Washington baseball team continues a busy stretch of games this week when Gonzaga comes to Husky Ballpark for a two-game series Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Huskies (10-14 overall and 1-2 in Pac-10 play) will host Gonzaga (17-7 overall, 2-1 in the West Coast Conference) Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday's contest will air live on radio on KKNW AM-1150. You can also listen to that live broadcast over the internet or, if you're a baseball season subscriber on the Dawg Channel, watch video. Wednesday's game will be a video broadcast at gohuskies.com (no live radio).
Tuesday night, Husky senior righty Jorden Merry (1-0, 3.96 ERA) [NOTE: Merry is a change from the originally scheduled starter] will square off against Zags sophomore lefty Reedy Berg (0-2, 6.28). Neither team has announced a starter for Wednesday's game.
This weekend, No. 3 Arizona State comes to Seattle for a three-game, Pac-10 series. The high-flying Devils are 19-4 overall and 5-1 atop the Pac-10 standings. Friday's game will be played at Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners. It will mark the third game the Dawgs have played at Safeco, having beaten Oregon State, 6-2, in 2007, and Arizona, 1-0, last year.
Friday's game begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's first pitch is slated for 2:00 p.m. and Sunday's series finale gets underway at 1:00 p.m. All three UW-ASU games will air on KKNW AM-1150.
Sunday, after the last of the three ASU games, the Huskies will board a bus bound for Spokane, where they'll take on Gonzaga Monday and Tuesday before returning for a Thursday-through-Saturday series against California at Husky Ballpark April 9-11.
