Hagadone Named First-Team All-Pac-10

May 23, 2007
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington left-handed pitcher Nick Hagadone has been named to the All-Pac-10 Baseball Team, the conference office announced today. The team is voted on by the conference's coaches.
Hagadone, a junior from Sumner, Wash. (Sumner HS), was the only Husky to make the first team. However, six Huskies earned honorable mention: sophomore second baseman Bradley Boyer (Sumner/Enumclaw HS), junior outfielder Michael Burgher (Lake Forest Park/Shorecrest HS), junior catcher Joey Dunn (Redmond/Inglemoor HS), junior third baseman Matt Hague (Kent/Kentwood HS), freshman designated hitter Ty Rasmussen (Bonney Lake/Enumclaw HS) and senior first baseman Curt Rindal (Mt. Vernon/Mt. Vernon HS).
Hagadone, who began the year as a starter but has served most of the season as the Huskies' closer, is 5-1 with a 2.97 earned run average and 11 saves. In his 63 and two-thirds innings, he's allowed 60 hits and struck out 69.
Ariozna State won three of the conference's top individual honors as Brett Wallace was named Player of the Year, Eric Sogard was named Defensive Player of the Year and Pat Murphy was named Coach of the Year. Arizona starter Preston Guilmet was honored as pitcher of the year while USC's Grant Green and UCLA's Gabe Cohen shared the Newcomer of the Year award.
The Huskies close out the 2007 regular season this weekend as California visits Husky Ballpark for a three-game series. Friday's first game begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and Sunday, game time is 1:00 p.m.
