Husky Women Fall Back To 15th At PING/ASU Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - Washington women's golf fell back two places to 15th at the PING/ASU Invitational, shooting 25-over 313 in Saturday's second round. The Huskies will enter the final round, Sunday, tied with California at 44-over 620.
The Huskies' bright spot Saturday was the play of senior Amber Prange. Prange jumped from 50th to 24th in the individual race following the second round, carding 1-under 71. Starting on the 10th tee, she parred the first nine holes before sinking birdies on holes three and seven. The round was the best by any Husky in the tournament thus far. Prange is currently tied with four other players at 4-over 148. She shot 5-over 77 in the first round, Friday.
Arizona State leads the team race by a commanding 16-shot lead at 11-under 565. The Sun Devils have two of the top three players atop the leaderboard with Jennifer Osborn in first place (8-under 136) and Anna Nordqvist tied for second with Stanford's Mari Chun (7-under 137). Vanderbilt will enter the final round in second place (5-over 581) with Texas A&M in third (7-over 583).
Just two shots separate Washington's four other competitors which include freshman Molly Boyle (t-64th, 13-over 157), freshman Molly Aronsson (t-66th, 14-over 158), freshman Christina Yoon (t-70th, 15-over 159) and junior Kim Shin (t-70, 15-over 159).
