Stevens Earns Academic Honor

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington sophomore third baseman Matt Stevens was named to the Pac-10 Baseball All-Academic first team, as announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen.
Stevens, from Lake Stevens, Wash., currently boasts a 3.25 grade point average as a pre-arts & science major. A starter in 53 of the Huskies 58 games so far this season, Stevens is batting .249 with 17 home runs and 46 RBI. His 17 homers are good for second in the Pac-10.
To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor. Here are the complete first and second teams, as well as thoses earning honorable mention:
