Alex Slovic (Sophomore, Pancevo, Yugoslavia)
Slovic was perfect in two singles matches and two doubles matches as the Huskies went 2-0 with wins over Arizona and Arizona State. Slovic teamed with Daniel Chu to topple the Wildcats' doubles team of Roger Matalonga and Colin O'Grady, ranked 19th in the nation. He then went on to defeated O'Grady in singles, 6-2, 6-0. Against the Sun Devils, Slovic once again teamed with Chu to win at doubles and then he took down the No. 122 singles player, Chris Letcher 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.

Shane Charles (Junior, St. Andrews, Grenada)
Charles put his talents in the 400-meter hurdles on display for
the first time Saturday at Oregon's Pepsi Invitational, clocking a time of
51.84 seconds that ranks sixth in UW history, and is the fastest by any

Washington in the fall of 2004 from Central Arizona Junior College, where he
earned JC All-American honors in the 400-meter hurdles last season. Charles'

Soma took the 2005 NCAA outdoor lead Saturday with
a vault of 14 feet, 0 inches at the Oregon Invitational, her second 14-foot

competitors outdoors in 2005, and is the fourth-best mark by an American
woman of any age during the 2005 outdoor season. A four-time All-American,
Soma will be seeking her first NCAA title in June after placing second at
each of the past two NCAA Championship events.
