Lincecum Named BA Freshman All-America

SEATTLE - Washington pitcher Tim Lincecum capped his list of postseason honors today when he was named to the Freshman All-America first team by Baseball America.
Lincecum, a right-hander from Renton's Liberty High, was previoulsy named the Pac-10 Pitcher and Freshman of the Year and was also named to the Collegiate Baseball All- America (all classes) second team and was Collegiate Baseball's co-National Freshman of the Year.
Lincecum finished the 2004 season at 10-3 with a 3.53 earned run average while breaking the UW record with 161 strikeouts.
He was one of two Pac-10 players named to the first team, along with USC pitcher Ian Kennedy. Arizona shortstop Jason Donald and Arizona State utility man Zechery Zinicola earned second-team honors while Alabama lefty Wade LeBlanc was Baseball America's Freshman of the Year.
