Men's Soccer Continues Spring Schedule Hosting Western Washington and Portland

SEATTLE, Wash. - With five games already under its belt, Washington men's soccer continues its 2004 spring schedule hosting two of its last three games at Husky Soccer Field. The Huskies entertain Western Washington, Saturday, April 10, at 6 p.m. and Northwest rival Portland, Saturday, April 17, at 1 p.m.
Washington will wrap its spring slate traveling south to face the Portland Timbers, Saturday, April 24.
The Huskies are 3-1-1 so far in spring play, earning victories over Trinity Western, UW Alumni and Portland, while falling to the Seattle Sounders and ending in a 1-1 tie with Gonzaga.
In its spring opener on Feb. 13, Washington used goals from Kevin Forrest and Brett Wiesner to down Trinity Western 2-1. UW followed that with a 3-0 shutout of the alumni team on Feb. 21, on a pair of goals from Wiesner and another goal by Will Flanagan.
UW's only loss so far came at the hands of the Seattle Sounders, 2-1, March 13. Casey Armstrong scored the Huskies' lone goal. Washington then made a trip to Portland to play two 60-minute games with Gonzaga and the host Pilots. Armstrong scored his second goal in as many games to lead UW to a 1-0 win over Portland. Mike Chabala's goal was the lone score for UW in a 1-1 tie with Gonzaga.
Ten different Huskies have either tallied a goal or assist in five games, led by Wiesner's three goals and C.J. Klaas' three assists. Chabala also has one goal and two assists, while Armstrong has two goals and one assist. Goalkeeper Chris Eylander also recorded two shutouts.
