UW Golfers Tie for Ninth at Bruin Classic

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The 12th-ranked Washington women's golf team finished in a three-way tie for ninth at the UCLA/Pioneer Classic at the par-72 Robinson Ranch Country Club. The Huskies shot 313 on Wednesday to tie Oregon State and Stanford at 944.
Top-ranked Pepperdine shot 1-over 289 to make up a five-shot deficit and pass USC for the team title with a 54-hole total of 898.
Husky junior Lindsay Morgan shot 1-over 73 to finish third in the tournament, one stroke behind co-medalists Katherine Hull of Pepperdine and Mikaela Parmlid of USC. Morgan was 4-over 220 for the 54-hole event. It marked the second time this year Morgan has had a top-three finish.
Morgan entered the tournament ranked 32nd nationally by Golfweek. Hull is second in the national individual rankings and Parmlid is fourth.
Washington's other scorers were led by senior Louise Friberg who shot 11-over 227 to finish 11th. Freshman Sung Ea Lee was 59th at 241, Michelle Grafos was 93rd at 261 and Katie Kofmehl was 95th at 264.
Washington's next tournament is April 4-6 at the PING/Arizona State Invitational.
