Kohn Named Pac-10 Pitcher Of The Week

Senior Shawn Kohn, a right-handed pitcher for the Washington baseball team, has been named the Pacific-10 Conference's Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Kohn, from Woodinville, Wash., picked up two victories over the weekend as the Huskies took two of three games from No. 2 Stanford. Kohn threw a six-hit complete game in Friday's 3-1 win over the Cardinal, then worked the final two innings of Sunday's 4-3, 10-inning victory. Over the weekend, he totalled 11 innings, allowing eight hits and no walks.
On the season, Kohn is now 8-2 with a 2.81 earned run average over 80 innings of work. He's thrown four complete games and has allowed only 70 hits and 13 walks while striking out 53.
The Pitcher of the Week Award is the first of Kohn's career. Connor Jackson of California, the team the Huskies face this coming weekend in Berkeley, was named teh Pac-10's Player of the Week after belting four home runs in four games last week.
