Washington women's rowing coach Jan Harville has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Women's Rowing Coach of the Year, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today. California's Steve Gladstone was named the men's Coach of the Year.
Harville led the Husky women's crew to its third national championship since the NCAA began sponsoring a national title five years ago. She also led the Huskies to back-to-back titles in 1997 and 1998, a third-place finish in 1999 and a runner-up finish in 2000.
The UW women also swept the Pac-10 Championships, winning the varsity eight championship for the 10th straight season.
Harville, in her 14th season at Washington, has won 10 Pac-10 titles and has been named the conference's coach of the year eight times, including four of the last five years.
