Kristina Kraszewski Receives Academic All-American Honors

SEATTLE - Washington junior women's tennis player Kristina Kraszewski has been named to the 2000 GTE Spring Women's At-Large Academic All-American District VIII Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). In order to be eligible for the Academic All-American honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and must be a starter or an important reserve and be in at least their second season at their current school. Kraszewski, who has a 3.45 GPA, is majoring in business.
Kraszewski led the Husky women to a 12-9 record and a No. 25 ranking this season while compiling a 28-10 overall record as Washington's top singles player. She is currently ranked fourth in the nation and spent five weeks in the top position in the weekly Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll (ITA). After winning the Pac-10 Indoor Tournament in January, she advanced to the Rolex National Indoor Final. She was recently named to the All-Pac-10 first team. Kraszewski was selected to compete at the NCAA Singles Tennis Championships for the third straight year.
