Husky Women Tied for Seventh at ASU Invite

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Washington women's golf team is tied for seventh with Stanford after shooting a 298 in the first round of the ASU Invitational. Arizona is leading the 15-field team with an at-par score of 288. New Mexico threatens the lead from second, three strokes back at 291.
Jenna Daniels of Arizona leads all individuals, firing a 4-under 68 over ASU's Karsten Golf Course. San Jose State's Georgina Simpson and USC's Mikaela Parmlid are tied at second, both women taking 70 strokes in round one.
Sophomore Kelli Kamimura paces Washington, tied at fourth after carding a 71, which ties her low score of the season. Junior Elisha Au was in next for the Huskies with a score of 73. Two Huskies recorded their lowest scores of the season, senior Mendy Cooper and freshman Michelle Grafos. Cooper lowered her previous low score of 81 to 79, and Grafos, who was competing as an individual, lowered her previous low of 77 to a 75.
Competition resumes tomorrow with round two. The final round will be held on Sunday, April 9.
