Washington Golfers Tied for Second in Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. - The Washington women's golf team fired a 302 in the first round of the Peg Barnard California Collegiate, tying with UCLA and USC for second place. Stanford leads its own tournament with a score of 301 on the first day of competition.
UCLA's Amanda Moltke-Leth, and USC teammates Candie Kung and Yon Yim are battling for the number one slot, each women carding a 71 on the day. Yon Kim is competing in the tournament as an individual. Jennifer Dodd of Washington State and Stephanie Keever of Stanford are in second place with scores of 72.
Sophomore Kelli Kamimura is pacing the Huskies, tied at seventh with a score of 74. Michelle Grafos had the next lowest Washington score of the day with 75, tying her low mark of the season. Mendy Cooper, competing as an individual, bested her low score of the year by two with a one-round total of 77. Cooper is tied along with fellow teammate Andrea Cordova at 22nd.
The final round of the California Collegiate will begin at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
