Washington: 1997 (Freshman) - The hard-throwing right-hander made 10 appearances during his freshman season, all in relief . . . a walk-on, he made all of the non-conference travel squads . . . did not allow a run in five of 10 outings . . . first career appearance was Feb. 7 at UNLV, when he struck out the one batter he faced . . . threw a good inning against UCLA, allowing a hit and a walk, but no runs . . . allowed a hit and fanned one in an inning against New Mexico . . . struck out one and allowed no hits or walks in one inning vs. Puget Sound on April 8 . . . only decision was a loss to Lewis-Clark State on April 22 . . . only outings in league were against PSU (April 5) and WSU (May 4), both at home . . . didn't see any postseason action . . . played summer ball for West Seattle, posting a 2.71 ERA over 48 innings.
