Men's Tennis Blanks Santa Clara, 7-0

SEATTLE - The 15th-ranked Washington men's tennis team dropped just two sets in sweeping Santa Clara, 7-0, on Thursday on the UW campus. The Huskies improve to 12-5 for the season and will face Montana tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. and Saint Mary's on Saturday at 2 p.m.
UW swept the doubles matches, led by Robert Kendrick/Nick Quatrochi downing Marcell Hlousek/Jeremy Testwuide, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles. In the second slot, Eric Drew/Andy Posavac outlasted Matt Cox/Eric Bachelor, 9-7, while Jeff Eicher/Mark Woolley stopped Lars Nelson/Scott Watters, 8-6.
In singles play, UW's fourth-ranked Robert Kendrick defeated Lars Nelson of Santa Clara, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, at No. 1, and Chuck Tille came-from-behind to stop Scott Watters at No. 5, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. Those were the only two sets the Broncos would win.
