Women's Tennis Takes Three Championship Titles

Seattle - Husky Zuzana Stunova won the championship title in Flight I singles and teamed with Peggy Wu to win the Flight I doubles championship on Sunday in the Washington Fall Invitational at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center. Washington's duo of Jennifer Svanfeldt and Zeta Wagner also claimed a title by winning the Flight II doubles championship.
The championship title in Flight I singles pitted teammates Stunova and Wu, with Stunova turning in a 3-6, 7-6, 6-0 win. Then Stunova and Wu teamed to down Oregon's duo of Janice Nyland and Andrea Petrovic 8-5 for the Flight I doubles title.
The tandem of Svanfeldt and Wagner clinched the Flight II doubles title by defeating Pacific's Katy Smith and Samantha Kluger 8-2. Prior to this match, Svanfeldt won her third-place match in Flight I singles by defeating teammate Wagner 6-0, 6-1.
UW senior Lara Botts fell to Moniek Van de Ven of Washington State by a count of 6-3, 6-1 in the Flight II singles championship match. Husky teammate Tahnee Hoag lost the Flight II singles third-place match 6-1, 6-2.
