Men's Tennis Defeats Texas Christian

Corpus Cristi, Texas -- Washington's 18th-ranked men's tennis team defeated No. 32 Texas Christian 4-3 to advance to the championship match at the H.E.B. Tennis Classic held in Corpus Cristi, Texas. Washington improved its record to 11-4 and have won five straight matches.
Washington lost the doubles point and needed to win four of six singles matches for the victory. Trailing 3-2, the Huskies tied it up and clinched the victory at No. 3 singles where 74th-ranked Andy Posavac defeated Martin Jirak in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. Third-ranked Robert Kendrick improved his record to 22-4 with a 7-6, 6-2 win over TCU's Trace Fielding in No. 2 singles.
Washington faces No. 19 Baylor in tomorrow's championship at 12:00 p.m. CST.
