Huskies Fly to Victory Over Pilots

SEATTLE - Washington's 18th-ranked men's tennis team opened its season with a 7-0 win over the Portland Pilots at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. The Huskies won the doubles point and swept all six singles matches. Washington leads the all-time series 38-0.
Eighth-ranked sophomore Robert Kendrick downed Jeff Nunnenkamp in No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-3 to improve his record to 8-2. Senior Eric Drew's 6-1, 6-2 victory over Nick Tostenrude in No. 2 singles moved him into a tie for eighth-place on Washington's career singles wins list. He has 64 career singles wins. Drew also teamed up with Kendrick for a doubles win that moved Drew into a tie for 10th place on the career doubles wins list. He has 50 career doubles wins.
Washington travels to Boise, Idaho next Friday to take on Idaho and Boise State.
