Men's Tennis Falls to No. 1 UCLA

Los Angeles, CA -- Washington's 15th-ranked men's tennis team lost to top-ranked UCLA 5-2 today in Los Angeles. The Huskies' lone points on the day came in the Nos. 1 and 2 singles positions, respectively. Fourth-ranked sophomore Robert Kendrick improved to 27-6 by virtue of a 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 win over 11th-ranked Jean-Noel Grinda in No. 1 singles play. Senior Eric Drew defeated 84th-ranked Jason Cook in No. 2 singles action, 6-3, 6-0.
The singles win gives Drew 78 career singles wins to tie him for second-place on Washington's all-time singles wins list. Drew and Kendrick teamed up to defeat the 10th-ranked doubles team of Brandon Kramer-Cook 9-7 in No. 1 doubles play. The 19th-ranked UW duo improves to 13-3 on the season. The doubles win gives Drew 67 career doubles wins, good for second-place on UW's all-time doubles wins list.
Washington returns to action Friday, April 17 hosting Oregon.
