Washington Women's Golfers Eighth at GTE Invitational
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Washington women's golf team stands in eighth place with a two-round total of 321 after 54 holes on the first day of competition at the GTE Mo-Morial Invitational hosted by Texas A&M. Campbell University leads the field with a score of 296 on the par-72, 6,125-yard Pebble Creek Country Club course.
Senior Kim Yabe was the low finisher for the Huskies on the first day, in a tie for 17th place with a 54-hole total of seven over par 79 (41-38). Mendy Cooper was close behind, in a tie for 23rd with an eight over par 80 (39-41).
Host Texas A&Ms Isabelle Rosberg is atop the leader board with a one under par 71 (38-33).
Play continues Tuesday with the final 18 holes beginning at 8 a.m.
