Deon Luton scores a career-high 31 points.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Deon Luton scored a career-high 31 points and Washington outscored Southern California 37-8 to start the second half Thursday night, propelling the Huskies to a 101-86 victory over the Trojans.
Washington (13-4, 6-2 Pac-10), won decisively despite the fact that USC's Adam Spanich scored a career-high 35 points.
Donald Watts added 22 points and Todd MacCullouch had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies.
Luton, a sophomore guard, made six 3-point shots in the first half, when he scored 22 points to lead the Huskies to a 39-35 lead. Luton and Watts combined for 14 points during an 18-0 Washington spurt during their 37-8 run in the second half.
Spanich, a junior forward playing his first season for the Trojans, scored 22 of his points in the second half, many after the outcome had been decided.
Kevin Augustine, a freshman guard, had a career-high 17 points and six assists for USC (6-12, 2-6).
Starting forward Gary Williams, stricken with a colon infection last week, played two minutes for the Trojans and was held scoreless.
Washington made 14 of its 22 shots from 3-point range. Luton was 7-of-12 and Watts was perfect in his five attempts.
Spanich made 7-of-14 shots from behind the 3-point line, but it wasn't nearly enough to prevent the Trojans from losing their fourth straight game and 11th in their last 13 outings.
