Husky teammates to vie for Flight One singles title.

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Husky women's tennis team placed three singles players and two doubles teams in the finals of the championship brackets on Saturday in the Washington Fall Invitational at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center. The tournament concludes on Sunday, with matches beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Two Huskies will vie for the Flight I singles champion title. To reach the finals, UW's Zuzana Stunova defeated teammate Jennifer Svanfeldt 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals. Stunova will face teammate Peggy Wu, who defeated Husky Zeta Wagner 6-3, 6-3, in tomorrow's championship match.
UW senior Lara Botts will meet Moniek Van de Ven of Washington State in the Flight II Championships. Botts defeated teammate Tahnee Hoag 6-1, 6-0 in the semifinals. Hoag will face Portland's Katie Smith in the third-place match.
In doubles action, Stunova teamed with Wu to defeat Boise State's duo of Pia-Lena Ander and Natalie Barby 8-4 in Flight I doubles. The Husky duo will take on Oregon's team of Janice Nyland and Andrea Petrovic in tomorrow's championship match. In Flight II doubles, Huskies Wagner and Svanfeldt beat Boise State's Beau Jones and Heather Thiry 8-5 to advance to the finals. This UW tandem will face Pacific's duo of Katy Smith and Samantha Kluger tomorrow.
