
GymDawgs Going Dancing: Washington Advances to Regionals After Big Ten Run

CHAMPAIGN – Washington gymnastics competed in the first of three sessions at the Big Ten Championship, placing second with a score of 195.475. No. 37 Rutgers took first with a 195.700, followed by No. 41 Illinois in third with 195.125 and No. 32 Nebraska in fourth with a 195.075.
With the finish, the GymDawgs are headed to regionals, punching their ticket to postseason competition on Friday, April 3. Stay tuned for more information!
Washington opened the meet on vault, posting a 48.650. Lilly Tubbs led the rotation with a 9.825 to place second, followed by Mary McDonough's 9.775. Jessica Schaffer added a 9.700 to close out the rotation.
The GymDawgs moved to bars and recorded a 48.950, their second-highest event total of the night. Tubbs paced the lineup with a 9.925, matching her season-high and earning a share of the event title. Deiah Moody and McDonough each contributed a 9.800, while Kristin Lin added a 9.750.
On beam, Washington scored a 48.950. Olivia Oppegard led the way with a 9.825 to tie for third, followed by Lana Navarro's 9.725 and Chelsea Hallinan's 9.700.
Washington closed the meet on floor with its top rotation of the night, scoring a 49.175. Caitlin McWilliams led the group with a 9.900 to tie for second place. Kira Bolden followed with a 9.850, and Navarro added a 9.800, making this her season-high.
Lin finished second in the all-around with a 39.050.
