Durfee, Moore Named To Comeback Player Of The Year Watch List

SEATTLE – Washington edge Zach Durfee and tight end Quentin Moore have earned a spot on the 2025 Comeback Player of the Year Award, College Sports Communicators in association with The Associated Press and Fiesta Sports Foundation announced today.
The watch list features 75 players from 51 schools including 12 from the Big Ten Conference.
Durfee made six appearances and three starts during the 2024 season, seeing limited playing time due to injury. In his appearances, Durfee totaled 16 tackled, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and one pass breakup. He had a season-high five tackles against Washington State in the Boeing Apple Cup. Durfee was also named to the Wuerffel Trophy watch list and a nominee for the Allstate Good Works Team.
Moore missed the final 12 games of the 2024 season after suffering an injury in the season-opener against Weber State. In 2023, Moore saw action in 14 games. His first career touchdown proved to be the game-winner in the conference championship game against Oregon.
Since 2018, the award has recognized college football student-athletes for overcoming injury, illness, or other circumstances. At the conclusion of each season, in a vote by a panel of college football writers, editors, and sports information directors, three college football student-athletes are honored as Comeback Player of the Year Award winners at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl.
