SEATTLE - Washington's star outfielder Malakhi Knight was named a Gold Glove Finalist, the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods announced. He would be the second Gold Glove winner in program history, joining Joe DeMers who was named the Gold Glove Pitcher of the Year in 2018.
Knight flashed his brilliance and athleticism in centerfield all season long.Β He pulled back multiple home runs, including one against Illinois that landed him on the SportsCenter countdown. The centerfielder also contributed to two double plays, on both occasions catching a runner trying to tag up and score.
