Foerster’s Double Wins Earn Big Ten Weekly Honor
April 09, 2025 | Track & Field
SEATTLE – Back-to-back dominant victories at the Stanford Invitational put the college track world on notice and earned Chloe Foerster her first Big Ten Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor. Foerster went to No. 1 in the NCAA in the 800-meters and No. 4 in the 1,500-meters with her two personal-best times.
At Cobb Track & Angell Field on the Stanford campus, Foerster opened up her outdoor season with a huge win in the 1,500m last Friday, running 4:07.32, and beating the rest of the fastest heat by nearly seven full seconds.
One day later, Foerster was back in action, and she won her 800-meters heat by over three seconds, rolling to the new NCAA No. 1 time of 2:00.52. That ranks third in UW history but is the fastest run during the timeframe of the collegiate season, as the two faster marks came in summer competition.
Foerster, a junior from Portland, is coming off her best indoor season that culminated with her first All-America First Team honor, as she finished sixth in the mile final at NCAA Indoors on March 15 to contribute to UW's program-record fourth-place finish.
